Sportler AG are one of the leading retail companies for sports apparel and equipment with a very successful online shop and currently 20 branch stores in northern Italy and Austria.

Our team has designed and introduced processes and systems for several of Sportler’s fulfilment departments. The main focus was on the following tasks:

ratioform have over the last 30 years been Germany's market leaders in mail order distributed packaging materials. The wide range of 4,200 products is sold by catalogue and the company's award winning internet shop. The company's highly efficient logistics system allows ratioform to ship 95% of all orders within the next working day.

ratioform is always trying to improve performance for the benefit of the company's customers. Consequently Pierau Planung were contracted to develop a number of concepts: design and planning of logistics extension, analysis of different site concepts and identification of potential improvements in the main warehouse.

Walbusch is a family business specialising in mail order sales of clothing for customers with special requirements. Walbusch are constantly developing new market opportunities and have successfully marketed their products not only in Germany but internationally as well.

Pierau Planung were given the opportunity to assist Walbusch in growing their business through a number of projects. One of these projects involved planning and establishing a logistics centre which caters for the automatic processing of hanging garments. After completion of this centre Walbusch will have at its disposal a storage capacity of 2,000 sqm within which 300,000 hanging items can be processed.

In total Walbusch will be able to increase the number of shipments to 10,000 per day.

ABUS (August Bremicker und Soehne KG) is one of the leading companies in mechanical and electronic security systems. Founded as a family-owned business in 1924, ABUS today employs ca. 2.500 staff worldwide.

ABUS assigned Pierau Planung with meeting the requirements of several design projects and optimisation targets: integration of a new storage warehouse into the existing system – increase of fulfilment capacity – introduction of a new picking system with pick-by-light and container conveying technology – optimisation of bulk picking – concept for warehouse management system.

M+W Dental is one of the largest mail order companies for dental supplies in German-speaking countries. The product range covers over 24,000 items that are sold via regularly published catalogues and an online shop. M+W guarantees a next working day delivery for all orders submitted before 5 p.m.

M+W Dental are extending their customer base steadily and have expanded their sales internationally. To maintain a high standard of order processing and product supply, M+W has assigned Pierau Planung with the task of optimizing current logistic processes.

Key objectives of the planning were the extension of storage capacity, the increase in storage locations in the order-picking warehouse and identifying ways to increase dispatch capacity.

The identified measures were then developed into a concept with phased periods of implementation.

New Packing Workstations

The Klingel Group is one of the leading mail order companies in Germany. Subsidiaries in Switzerland, Austria, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Russia and in Slovakia make the Klingel Group one of the best known suppliers of household goods and fashion items in Europe.

For decades Pierau Planung have supported the Klingel Group in the continuous development and improvement of their logistics systems.

Two projects that were carried out in the many years of working for the Klingel Group involved planning and introducing an automated packing system and an automatic system for processing hanging garments.

Thanks to the successful implementation of these systems the Klingel Group has now state of the art packing lines with automatic carton building, sealing and labeling and cross belt sorting of individual items directly into shipping cartons.

Hanging garments are processed in warehouses with static and dynamic elements. The dynamic system handles the complete processing of hanging garments from order picking and labeling to dispatch packaging.

The modern and highly efficient logistics systems make the Klingel Group a model for the mail order business beyond the borders of Germany.
